Though the mansion is near the heart of the city, the atmosphere of the countryside is quite evident at Maikkula. All fields in the mansion's yards have been planted and, by next summer, will have produced a wide range of crops. It has been said: "patience is a virtue". The smoke sauna is a unique experience that takes an entire day of preparation. But, let us guarantee, it is all worth it! The logs, which create this sauna, are over 300 years old.
While in use, the dim light and the unique smell of this rare experience will certainly take away the stress of life, leaving you relaxed and refreshed.

Visitors and guests have always been treated with the highest respect while at the Maikkula Mansion. We can organize any type of celebration: wedding balls,
birthdays, and even family reunions. There are no limitations for the location of your party. It can be held in our formal saloons or in the stables if you please. The staff of Maikkula has always loved a good party!

There is a wide range of audio/visual equipment here at Maikkula.
Also, we can offer you several places to hold your meeting: a peaceful saloon in the main building or a design-lounge built halfway inside the riverbank. Our huge glass walls, latest technology, and modern sauna will make you business meeting a success.
Our chefs will take salmon from the cellar and guide you personally through a dinner, which you can create yourself. During your meetings, our art exhibitions and concerts in main building will only enhance the enjoyment for you and your associates.
LEISURE TIME AT THE RIVER OULU
The location of Maikkula makes it an ideal place for boating, canoeing, or cruises in the summer. Warm, calm August nights and our wharf makes a combination for all kinds of gatherings by the river.
In the winter, we have the best cross country tracks in the area. The oldest ski race in the world, Tervahiihto (Tar-Race) passes through Maikkula. Snow scooter safaris take you to the upper parts of the river and through the forests on well-groomed trails.
